Aleatoricist and bricoleur, “Really Happening” is a functionary of the eternally inexpressible noiseiverse. His not-songsare at once a challenge to the meaninglessness of orthodox corporeal pursuits and a celebration of the voids echo… a stop gap, reaper-dodging, gallows humored catch-me-if-you-can battle hymn to the heavenly custodians of chaos.
Our busy lives accumulate sound excretions… aural waste products all producing the effects of global noising. Is thisReally Happening? Who will deliver us from our disquiet?
With the deaths of Johnny Cash and Ivor Cutler, a goddess muse-spirit was unemployed. Then one night, in a UK pub, in Devon, she met a very interesting fellow... a messenger of light in a world where darkness prevails. His name is UKE STANZA! The Following words were taken from his website...
Why do we need a new spirituality in art? (because) conformity is addictive. JUST SAY 'NO'! Bring about the death of Post-Modernism. Instigate a spiritual renaissance. Art exhibitions, poetry readings and music concerts should be held in homes, with access to chairs and cups of tea. Real art and entertainment still exists and it is right in front of us.
Pleonasm Music and RIM Records join forces once again... this time to bring youUKE STANZA's double album, The Very Thin LineandPheasants Will Cross The Road.
A LIFE TIME OF NERVOUS GUT ACHES VOL. 3 Rare recordings 1979-2010, is a series of rare recordings spanning a period of over 30 years. Releasing Volumes 1 & 2 on his own “RIM Records” label, Pleonasm's Volume 3 mostly comprises blue-print recordings for the forth-coming Sexton Ming/ Dave Cloud titles; “Dave Cloud and the gospel of power do Sexton Ming” and “Sexton Ming and the London Dirt Hole Company do Dave Cloud”. Some are re-recordings of songs that originally came out on Ming’s back catalogue. ‘Revenge’ is a 19 min track recorded at Toe Rag Studio’s with the prog-rock outfit “Damp Banger”. This Pleonasm Download of A.L.T.O.N.G.A. Vol 3 also features 3 bonus tracks, courtesy of our esteemed UK Ambassador Mr. Sexton Ming! (cover-art portrait by Chris Yates)
Anyone can be a talented, but it takes genius to be a loser. “Talented Losers” names a theoretical contemporary art movement out of London… An unholy child from the loose loins of The Stuckist group. De-skilling the disciplines of Music, Art, Film, Dance, Performance, Theatre, and Poetry… these weird wizards play perversity’s lyre with the casual fluency of a flatulent. “Talented Losers” is also the name of a collaborative poetry project by Colin Shaddick and Sexton Ming (published by Open Fly press 2010). The following Pleonasm/R.I.M. Records download is from their book launch party and performance, recorded live at London’s famous 12 Bar... Sexton Ming began his career as a poet with the now legendary Medway Poets. Sharing creative fluids with the likes of Billy Childish and Charles Thomson (founder of the Stuckist Group), Sexton has led a prolific artistic life producing countless works of Visual Art, Music, Poetry, Literature and Theatre. This is his first official spoken word album... Colin Shaddick is a London based artist, crowned ‘Great British Eccentric’ (by the UK Eccentric Club in 2009). He was also editor and publisher for the contemporary poetry magazine “SAW”.
Spencer Owen is a lowish-fi musical vomiteur. A half-sound-wave Chimera for whom every breath & blink is a song. He is also a self-taught home-recording multi-instrumentalist prodigy and lyricist. Spencer's songs are written in a uniquely-heady pop musical dialect and coated in a candy-rose scented perfume for an increased dynamic-ear-sensation (DES). Raised in a dungeon and surrounded by a wall of magic; humanity has enjoyed protection from the sublime beauty of his enchanted aural essence... But the day hath drawn nigh, the dragon awakened, and his glory now in full bloom.
"Defiant Jewel" is an ancient healing vine, heavy with SONNNNGS!
"Or So You Thought" Is the still-beating heart of a rare white porcupine WITH SONNNNGSS INSIDE!!!
"(U.)M.F.A.C.I. EP" is a hallucinogenic-plant-salad with crutons made of SSSSSONNNNGS!!!!
Goodbye The Band makes music like most people grow hair. With song titles like "Dennis Is Unique Part X" John has recorded a song about almost everything. With more than 1000 original tunes on his hard-drive before the age of 20, GTB, self-proclaimed the Allen Ginsberg of New Jersey, does for pop music what Evel Knievel does for motorbike safety. The first DOWNLOAD link is a recent title called "What We Were On To", while the second DOWNLOAD is a Pleonasm mix of GTB pop oldies called "Pop Oblivious". Download what people are calling a David Byrne album on drugs.
"Goodbye the Band's What We Were On To is amazing."
Nic has been writing and recording music since the age of 2, though the muse really kicked in at 13, when Nic recorded his legendary "Barbie Doll" ep CDR, and has blossomed through successive engagements with chamber-pop, industrial, and folk-rock idioms. As Waterman approaches his 18th birthday, Pleonasm and Redacted Records have conspired to co-release a compilation of consonant Canadian pre-adult garage-psalms. "Curated by LA art critic Doug Harvey, "My Majority" showcases a patchwork of home-recordings, live performances, and garage-band experiments -- plus a couple of curveballs -- to create a fascinating musical portrait of a prodigy on the brink of international superstardom. Can the long rumored Hershey's (maker of Twizzlers) tour sponsorship be far off?"
